Comments:

I left Windsor, except for visits and a few summers, after grade 12. My grade 13 year was spent in Switzerland, but I was fortunate to share in the grade 13 convocation at RHS the following year.

I attended McGill University in Montreal and stayed on to work there afterwards, eight years in total. Although my former French teachers at RHS would find it hard to believe, I learned to speak French reasonably well. I was there for the FLQ crisis and the police stike and riots...all very interesting. I left just before the Olympic Games and the election of Rene Levesque, moving back to more sedate southern Ontario - London. I have remained in London since.

My degree was in architecture and I worked for several firms in Montreal and then in London before starting my own practice. After a few years, I merged with several other architects. That partnership continued for over 20 years and during that time, we did a lot of interesting and significant projects, mostly around London. I then spent a year and a half working in Toronto and commuting back to London on weekends, followed by more than 5 years as Director of Planning for a major hospital in London.

I am just recently retired and am catching up on all the things I could not get to before.

My favourite activities are skiing/snowboarding, windsurfing and golf.

School Story:

Riverside was a great place to grow up and RHS was the best. I have many fond memories of fellow students, staff and events.

Some events that come to mind include: the sock hops (I was fortunate to be the official keeper of the Key Club record collection used at the dances), basketball/football/hockey/swimming competitions, pep rallies, the semi-formal (all night parties at the Thrasher's after), roller skating, hanging out at the diary bar...etc.

I remember being transported to a junior football game, fully dressed in football gear, crammed into Mr. Snider's VW. I am not sure how many of us were in there, but I seem to recall 8. I wonder how they do it now.

It is great to reconnect to many from that era. Some have hardly changed...others have a lot. But, it is all very interesting. I also remember those who have not made it this far. My brother, Scott, Kent Billinghurst, Colin Ritchie, Kathy Tebbs come to mind.

May we have a few more reunions and make many more connections in the years to come.

Good to know that you are still kicking strong. Have looked for you at some of the reunions but we always miss. Maybe sometime. We shared a lot of laughs! Some of those we laughed with are gone.
